Key Updates for Synnex CSP Partners

As we move into 2025, several important updates from Microsoft will impact CSP partners. From pricing adjustments to security requirements and product enhancements, here’s what you need to know:

Microsoft Pricing Updates – Effective April 1, 2025

Starting April 1, 2025, Microsoft will introduce a 5% price increase for monthly billing plans on annual subscriptions. This applies to:

• Any new annual subscriptions created from April 1, 2025.
• Existing annual subscriptions at their first renewal after this date.

This price adjustment only affects annual commitment plans that opt for monthly billing.

Additionally, Microsoft will adjust pricing for Teams Phone Standard, Power BI Pro, and Power BI Premium licenses. You can review the full announcement here.

Mandatory Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Enforcement

 Azure Portal & Microsoft 365 Admin Center

Microsoft has begun enforcing MFA across key admin portals:

• Azure Portal, Entra Admin Center, and Intune Admin Center – MFA enforcement is rolling out gradually across 2025.
• Microsoft 365 Admin Center – Since February 3, 2025, Microsoft has started enforcing MFA for all admin users, with phased implementation at the tenant level.

Action Required for Partners

• Global admins must set up MFA by following this step-by-step guide.
• Users accessing the Microsoft 365 Admin Center should verify their MFA settings and update their authentication methods if needed.

Unused Azure Subscriptions – Auto-Blocking & Deletion

Since December 2024, Microsoft has been identifying unused Azure subscriptions (no activity or consumption for 12+ months) and blocking them. These subscriptions are:

• Notified 30 days before blocking via email.
• Deleted 90 days after being blocked if no action is taken.

If you manage Azure subscriptions, ensure active use to prevent service interruptions.

Copilot in Microsoft 365 Admin Centers – Now Available

Microsoft has made Copilot in Microsoft 365 Admin Centers generally available for all tenants with at least one Copilot license.

• Admins do not need a Copilot license for access.
• A prebuilt Copilot admin agent will be fully rolled out by the end of March.

If an admin has a Copilot license and an admin role assigned, the admin agent will be preinstalled automatically.

50% Discount on Microsoft E5 Compliance

From now until February 1, 2026, customers with Microsoft 365 Copilot licenses can get 50% off Microsoft E5 Compliance.

• This offer applies to both new and existing customers who purchased Microsoft 365 Copilot without the E5 Compliance SKU.
