CSP Partner Insights Series – Monthly Key Updates – October 2025

17 October, 2025

In this issue, we break down all the latest key updates to Microsoft 365, Teams, Dynamics 365 Business Central pricing and packaging, effective November 1, 2025. These changes aim to simplify suite offerings, ensure pricing consistency, and align product naming with Microsoft's evolving security and compliance strategy.

Partners should also take note of new Partner of Record (POR) validation requirements, MFA enforcement timelines, and the launch of the Security Workspace AI Assistant in Partner Center.

Updates to Microsoft 365 and Teams Pricing and Packaging

Effective November 1, 2025, Microsoft will introduce changes to the pricing and packaging of Microsoft 365 and Teams.

As part of these updates, Microsoft is reintroducing the Microsoft 365 and Office 365 Enterprise suites with Teams into the General Availability (GA) lifecycle. This means you'll once again be able to purchase or transition customers to Microsoft 365 and Office 365 Enterprise suites that include Teams.

To ensure pricing consistency across the portfolio, Microsoft will also adjust pricing between suites that do not include Teams. This includes reducing the price of Enterprise and Business suites without Teams (such as Microsoft 365 F3 / MF3) and increasing the price of the Teams Enterprise standalone offering.

Renaming of Microsoft 365 E5 Mini-Suites

Effective October 1, 2025, Microsoft has announced the renaming of its Microsoft 365 E5 mini suites as follows:

  • Microsoft 365 E5 Security → Microsoft Defender Suite (new)
  • Microsoft 365 E5 Compliance → Microsoft Purview Suite (new)

These updates reflect Microsoft's ongoing alignment of product names with their core security and compliance offerings.

Dynamics 365 Business Central: Pricing Update

Microsoft has also revised the price adjustment timeline for Dynamics 365 Business Central, moving the effective date from October 1, 2025, to November 1, 2025.
